Incredibly obvious the woman who hit him was an illegal alien. But of course he'd never dare fight that particular injustice to tax paying Americans.

Yes, we can definitely fix our deep societal rot by directing anger at individual scapegoats that aren't even that prevalent. (compare your auto insurance premium lines for your own liability, and for uninsured drivers. the latter is small, meaning the total amount of damage caused by uninsured drivers is small)

Anything but staying focused on the entire system of paid "professionals" doing the least possible to meet their KPIs while shifting/avoiding responsibility at every step of the way. (in this story those "professionals" include the medical workers themselves, the billing department fraudsters, and the insurance companies)

Non-sarcastically - having advocated for family members in the hospital more than a handful of times, this article totally tracks. You're mostly there to generate billable events, getting appropriate treatment may be a side effect.

Not too long ago, I was in Redding CA on a cold morning in a coffee shop for a business meeting. I happened to chit chat with a gal with a nasal infusion pump who was nervously gathering her papers for a bankruptcy hearing where the hospitals and such were calling dibs on (nearly) everything she had left while she was dying and still alive from Stage IV cancer. That was just one life made to suffer and destroyed by privatizing everything and calling universal healthcare "communism". There are millions more nameless examples whose stories die untold, and you (if you were American in America), your mother, your child, or your spouse may well end up becoming one of these statistics too. Every other civilized country in the world and relatively some poorer ones have better health outcomes, live longer, and spend less per patient. Americans are dying and becoming homeless unnecessarily because of apathy, out-of-control political corruption, and greed. It's shameful and a disgrace.
