You’d think if we convicted Elizabeth Holmes for defrauding investors, many AI grifters are doing far worse? What am I missing

This country, and capitalism, have no issue taking down women. It's rather profitable to do so.

Also this country, and capitalism, LOVE scams. There are countless legal scams running right now in the US government. As long as the right people are benefiting from the scams then they aren't going anywhere.

You’re not wrong about the situation with women - Martha Stewart was another example, her main crime seems to have been “insider trading without political power”, since what she did is something that a majority of senators, congresspeople, and executive branchers - obviously including the president - have done at one time or another.

But Holmes was selling a medical product that was completely fraudulent, and that she knew was fraudulent. There’s a reason medical products are heavily regulated.

If you want to claim unfair targeting against her, I think you’d need to find a roughly equivalent example involving a man, otherwise it’s not really a meaningful comparison.

lmao. You know her male cofounder got more prison time than her, right?

Not to mention according to the BOP tracker Holmes is at a minimum security camp (which I've heard described as being similar to living in military barracks - you could literally just walk away if you wanted to) while Balwani is at an actual low-security prison meant for e.g. drug dealers and sex offenders.
