It has been like this for more than a year, a lot longer than just the past couple of months.

HackerNews, just like all other platforms, is heavily astroturfed and the big AI labs have bots commenting and voting, so it'll never end.

The only solution is a platform that only allows humans, with a proof of humanity before posting anything, but not too sure what that can be, and it would ultimately be unsuccessful.

But we have to see the positive, at least less posts about SQLite make it to the frontpage.

All I ever see are the Anti's and the crazies? Like the guy (who is in this very post) who keeps opening accounts to complain about Claude related posts and saying various slurs. Almost feels like the old days when Terry Davis would post technical rants with slurs applied liberally.

To be honest I have showdead on and while I see the things you see, I also see a lot of blatant AI slop getting killed off too. I'm sure most people on here are at least somewhat attuned to Claude's 'voice' by now.

		If a LLM-voice comment has [dead] next to it, either the account was already banned in its entirety or HN's LLM text detector marked the comment auto-dead due to suspected LLM writing. If the comment has [flagged] [dead] next to it, the comment was killed by human flagging. You can see both kinds of comment if you browse https://news.ycombinator.com/noobcomments If you have enough karma to flag comments you can also flag them directly from the noobcomments feed, which is useful to help manage the abusive users who keep re-registering new accounts.

It's HackerNews themselves selling fake praise as an ad product.

The sticks are so far up the asses of the mods here and the top karma folks that no random AI company would be able to get upvoted here. The moment something like that happens outside the in-group, they would get flagged to death.

Instead HN sells propaganda as a product. So we get to hear about Claude, Kagi, and AT Proto every hour of every day :D
