| Every medical provider I've ever visited has been pounding my metaphorical ass since 4 years ago (like it literally started at midnight on my exact 50th birthday) to remind me that my colonoscopy is due to go spelunking for polyps and "prevent cancer" for some reason. Guys, I have enough real problems to worry about, without anyone inventing new ones or going on a fishing expedition. I get really sick of these "mandatory screenings". As I just finished writing, I have real actual health issues that I'm dealing with and I'm closely working with my invisible PCP to treat those issues (as in "Trick or Treat" on Hallowe'en.) I see no need to go looking for problems I don't already have, and problems that won't materially affect my life until it's too late anyway. If someone did discover cancer in me, what would we do? How would things change? Nothing at all. I would do nothing. I'm not gonna die of chemotherapy. | | |
