I was introduced to Maslow's hierarchy of needs 25 years ago around the same time I read about Pavlov's dogs. The need to belong is extraordinarily motivating. It became obvious that the cults leveraged the need in the individual to belong to a group by accepting the person without judgement first rather than attacking the person they are trying bring into their group pushing them away. The leaders who understand that are winning. | ||||||||
