Having seen this orgy of violence for years now, my impression is that Netanyahu can do whatever he likes. He crossed so many red lines and nothing has happened - no sanctions, no diplomatic or military responses. Countries who would contemplate it know the US would retaliate against them - like the international courts that got sanctioned. Trump needs barely a reason to slap on punitive tariffs, I'm sure taking action against Israel would do it too. And the US seems fanatically in support of Israel too - in particular, Republican voters seem to accept and support anything Israel does. This support seems so strong that even Kamala Harris didn't dare speak against Israel. Until that changes, and while US runs the show, unless Netanyahu drops a nuke on the US, I can't see a force that will stop him. | |||||||||||||||||
