Having seen this orgy of violence for years now, my impression is that Netanyahu can do whatever he likes. He crossed so many red lines and nothing has happened - no sanctions, no diplomatic or military responses. Countries who would contemplate it know the US would retaliate against them - like the international courts that got sanctioned. Trump needs barely a reason to slap on punitive tariffs, I'm sure taking action against Israel would do it too. And the US seems fanatically in support of Israel too - in particular, Republican voters seem to accept and support anything Israel does. This support seems so strong that even Kamala Harris didn't dare speak against Israel. Until that changes, and while US runs the show, unless Netanyahu drops a nuke on the US, I can't see a force that will stop him.

>And the US seems fanatically in support of Israel too Just "seems"!? Name me a recent US president or candidate that wasn't very pro-Israel. JFK is the only one I know and he got a bullet in his head. Then you have the fact that about 80% of congress are AIPAC members. That alone tells you everything. Then at the debates for NY mayor elections, all candidates were asked insistently if they support Israel and if they'll visit the Holy City as if it were a requirement, which is a very weird purity test for a job that has nothing to do with that. So I don't know how Americans can look at these facts and still deny that Israel is not running their country or at least having controlling influence over their political system.
