| I had the idea to do medical animations in a very lo-fi style a while ago (plasticine, cardboard and yarn, that kind of thing), around the time when Don't Hug me I'm Scared first came out. I felt it could add a charming contrast to the usually sterile and dull 3d visualisations. Everyone I pitched it to was excited until it came time to secure funding, at which point the idea was dropped like a hot potato. The academic institutions all felt that students from overseas wouldn't have the same cultural touchstones, and would feel the lo-fi material cheapened their hugely expensive course! |
