Tesla probably has more revs than any other major manufacturer. They constantly tinker with production and ship changes immediately rather than deferring them into a traditional rev. There's even been cases where they just bodge a fix with home depot scraps for a few dozen cars and turned them over to customers in that state.

Their change management systems are legitimately impressive to handle what seems to be a complete dumpster fire from the outside.

But a brand new Model 3 still looks very much like the first Model 3. Most manufacturers rebuild a model every 7-8 years.

I certainly hope they've grown beyond 'bodging a fix' now.

Not even remotely. There's two things. When it comes to software, other manufacturers essentially ship complete and tested software. Of course there are firmware updates every now and then, but they're rare and treated like a big deal and a recall. Tesla is just constantly pushing out beta software to their cars. So having more revs in that case isn't even close to a good thing.

When it comes to the wholistic model revs, they are worlds away from other manufacturers. For example, both Kia and Hyundai have almost as many EV models as Tesla in a quarter of the time while also having dozens of various hybrid and ICE models across several different markets. And they rev these models every year and have major redesigns every few to five years or so. And their quality and reliability are leaps and bounds above Tesla models. Every single model of Teslas has remained unchanged in the body style and overall construction since they were introduced, which is over a decade for two models.

That sounds to me like they don't have a comprehensive change management system and are just running around fighting fires to fix poor designs/manufacturing.
