Are startups really any different? Seems like our own culture has been polluted just the same. The discourse is all pitchpitchpitch fundfundfund growgrowgrow now, the actual building of products is secondary; it's just assumed you'll build it. Making stuff people want is, I guess, just an assumed thing and all the talent needs to be applied to the various inter-human sales ends.

It wasn't like this 20 years ago.
