I don't understand what's wrong with the tech industry in the past 20 years. It feels like every time there is an opportunity to do the wrong thing, there is a mad rush towards that opportunity. Quickly! Do the wrong thing _first_ so some other company doesn't get to profit from evil instead of us. No company seems to consider abstaining from evil practices; burying the knowledge, or building systems which cannot be used for evil. The question only seems to be, how can _our_ evil succeed and benefit us.
