I remember reading about how in Norway (I don't remember which specific country it was) you could go and register as belonging to X category (I don't remember if it was religion) so when you die you could choose where you’ll be buried.

And of course how the information was used by Nazis to search for you and... you know the rest of the story... including why it should be dissalowed in first place.
