Are you saying that journalism, though inherently biased, serves no useful function in our society and only ever serves to mislead people?

It serves a useful function in the same way that a bar serving alcohol serves a useful function. It's making money by giving people something that's bad for them. They really want it, so it's not going away. But it's a net negative on society and we'd all be better off if they disappeared.
