This happens on places like amazon too, that know I bought a toaster, then show me sponsored results for 50 more toasters.

I think they theory is that you are more likely to have some sort of buyers remorse and return that toaster and buy a new one than a baseline person is to suddenly buy a toaster.

I'm not sure if that's true, but that's the theory.
