I honestly feel insane pity for the author, as apparently they view all the things that (to me) make life worth living (human connection, learning new things, doing creative stuff) as just a "necessary evil" to make the wheel of capitalism spin.

That said, the whole premise of this article is weird to me, as it assumes that, once the singularity hits, the power of infinite intelligence will just be handed to us on a silver platter and turn the world into a paradise for all humans. Rather than being used to concentrate yet more wealth and power in the hands of the already wealthy and powerful.
