The "Pro" in MacBook Pro has slowly degraded to "it comes with a fan so that the chip can keep chugging when it gets a hard workload, unlike the MacBook Air where the chip will throttle since there's no fan". | ||

Screen, ports too (to be fair I've used the HDMI port about 5 times, and the card reader never). The base model chip on the Air is binned too - 8 GPU cores on the Air vs 10 on the Pro. | ||

If anything, Pro really means pro now. It used to just be the default laptop everyone bought because the Air was too slow and had a terrible screen. The 2020 MBP was almost as thin as the MBA and had barely any more connectivity. Now it's bulky and provides more power than normal users need. | ||
