I would pay 2x or even 3x for this with working Asahi Linux patches provided in source code form on Apple's site.

Asahi supports up to the M3 line. Linux 7.4 supports M4 so surely Asahi will support it soon.

What is it about this MBP that makes it so much more preferable to an MBP with M3 Pro/Max?

I want the newest one and I want to run Gentoo Linux on it with working Asahi patches for all aspects of the hardware. I want it enough I'm willing to pay for it. I'll pay 3x Apple's current sticker price. But Apple will never sell that to me, as far as I can guess. Apple is not a good person.
