Well hang on now, because it sounds like you don't know what a one-way hash is. If you put the hash on the blockchain, no one except you will be able to read the pdf. Because the hash isn't anything except a hash, and cannot be unwound to create the pdf. So nothing would be recorded for all time, except a random string that means something to you, and only to you.

The file itself will be available on IPFS and will be posted in an S3 or similar bucket. I'll make a torrent too.
