Try going back to thumb typing, no long press symbols , and no cursor movement from your spacebar. I've almost thrown my test iPhone at work across a room more times than I'd like to admit (since it doesn't belong to me)...

I wish. The iPhone 5S is the last one I can reliably type on. Idk what they did to screw up the hitboxes.
