Hopefully this opens the door for EA to sell off the Mass Effect IP to a company that's interested in making something other than a live service game.

Fingers crossed, but it's weirdly uncommon in the games industry.

Apart from whatever the hell happened with Bungie's many changes of ownership, I can't think of many beloved franchises that have been successfully transitioned to new ownership...

Is that even a thing? I can't think of any case where company sold off game IP other than in acquisitions

		Hytale was bought back from Riot Games by its original owner after Riot cancelled the project, but this kind of thing is certainly a 1 in a million situation
