Academics have a duty to make quality knowledge open. The difference between what is outside and inside the walled garden is astounding. They most of the truly valuable knowledge to themselves, and leave the public to feed on scraps, augmented by mountains of junk food, drowning in an ocean of sh-t (misinformation).
