It's not that they were anti VM, they just didn't think it was a proper security boundary.

		And they've been proven correct. Even the "secure" variety with hardware level encryption turned out to be vulnerable.

I don’t think the theme is “anti‐AI.” I think what it’s trying to express is something along the lines of “take responsibility for your code,” where one’s code is the code one unleashes upon the world.

But that’s just my interpretation.
