44. Three kids. Getting divorced. I live in my car now. Why? Because I have zero trust any job will come back. Also: I enjoy living in my car. I remain highly active building and building and building with agents. I am very up to speed. Have been getting interviews. But none of them convert. I think all the companies capable of paying my salary needs are going to be only downsizing forever. So that leaves do my own company or a startup. Neither of which cover my alimony or child support. I missed my last interview last week - I think they genuinely pulled the req, simply - not hiring the role anymore due to AI uncertainty.

I don’t know about everyone else. My approach is to cut costs to the absolute bone and live like a monk.

I have no idea what is happening to my employability. The only thing I can do is get as lean as possible. Thus - life in a van / car.

>alimony

Why on earth should you be on the hook for alimony given your circumstances and situation? That makes zero sense.

In the enlightened system, you are on the hook for your last 3 years of salary, not the immediate circumstance.

Try going to somewhere overseas within the same timezone with lower living expenses. This will be easier than living in a vehicle and more interesting and does not preclude flying back for jobs.
