I'd be rich if I got a dollar every time dentists have tried to push a root canal as the solution for pretty much every dental problem I have had in recent years.Stood my ground, and got a crown without a root canal, and I am fine.

Same for optometrist/opticians. Always pushing me to get glasses. I know my vision would be better with glasses, but my vision has remained pretty good without them even into middle age; no need to fix what is not truly broken
