Home solar arrays are 10-100kw (order of magnitude). EVs go 2-5 miles per kWh. So, the charge rate is 20-500 miles per hour when the sun is out. Assume one extra EV per house, round robin. New EVs are $10-60K, depending on county. The solar is, say, $30K. So, $60-210K per house for ten years of energy independence for a two car ICE house. ICE cars wear out faster than EVs.
