I've been doing this as well. Though ubiquitous brand names die hard, like "kleenex" and "saran wrap".

I have no idea who owns the Kleenex and Saran Wrap brands and what they are like (I know it's a quick internet search away ;)), but they aren't using their products to track my every move, so it doesn't feel like it's as much of a problem.

Don't forget to stop saying Velcro and start using hook-and-loop fastener and interlocking slide fasteners instead of Zippers!
