Must have been a massive shock in contrast to his life up until that point... But even he is more optimistic being in jail than I've ever been in my life. SBF probably still thinks he can be pardoned. Probably still thinks he will rebuild everything. Success creates a kind of delusional optimism which serves like a permanent light at the of the tunnel; which most people don't have.
