The biggest advice I can give to someone is that you have to replace the alcohol with something else. For me and a lot of other people it’s weightlifting or running. That’s what I look forward to instead of having a beer. In my specific case I got AllTrails and then made it a goal to “collect” as many different runs as possible by getting a verified complete on those trails. I now have 400+ unique, verified complete trails on my app now. | ||||||||

And for those who can't do it on their own, there is also therapy and AA. I've met plenty of people who developed a problem and cleaned up on their own. But some people can't, and 12 step fellowships and therapy are great for that. And of course replacing bad habits with healthy ones. Good ad for AllTrails by the way | ||||||||

The term for folks who fail to do what you’re saying is “dry drunk”. It’s a good indicator you’ll be returning to alcohol. | ||||||||
