seems to be a "vibe-code" problem

Vibe coded or not, I was honestly trying in on two desktops (and two browsers) and a mobile phone and didn’t get any lag, which is why I couldn’t have caught this before.

It might be some other combination that might contribute to whether there is or isn’t lag, and I’m going to try and find what it is :)
