Your response tells me you haven’t done much hiring, if at all, or, even if you have, you haven’t done it very well. You’re being unnecessarily defensive. Someone who actually knows what they’re doing, when hiring multiple people, keeps a count of the positions and, if they want to be transparent, updates it as people are hired and onboarded. It’s not that hard.

I've done hiring at AWS and many other companies and the OP is 100% accurate, so I don't know why you speak with such confidence

You could argue that AWS doesn't know what they're doing but they also hire way more software developers than all but a handful of other companies
