You have to actually WANT to quit to actually quit smoking, and I don't mean on a superficial level. You might think, oh I should really quit smoking because it is bad for my health. But if you don't make a decision and change your core mentality that you really want to stop smoking, you'll just go back to it at some point, no matter what "trick" you use. | ||

This is why Alan Carr’s book is an excellent resource and easy to mention to any smoker. I found his idea around every smoker always wanting to quit fairly true. I wanted to quit smoking since the day I started, but the amount of mental hurdles I was able to put in my own way is exactly what stopped me from giving it a serious attempt. | ||

Most people who think they want to quit are still in the "wanting to want to quit" phase. When I truly decided to quit (because of a family health issue), I quit cold turkey and never touched a cigarette again. | ||
