I’m surprised you can tell it isn’t a button anymore, the fake click is very accurate feeling. The lack of moving parts is a good upgrade.

There's no seam, and it depends on being a button by guessing that you're not scrolling.

It's annoyingly non-deterministic.

I've never had a laptop mouse button ever break down on me.
