Not at all. For example, arrival of Uber was very visible and destructive to taxi industries in many places; I witnessed it in Moscow, Russia where I lived for a few years back then. In 2012, if you needed a quick ride from an underground station to your home, you needed to bargain with some random dude waiting near the station in a very shitty car, and pay cash (good luck if you need change). Fast forward a year or two, and you can hail a ride from your phone using either Uber or a local Yandex.
