If its falling apart its not good furniture.

A lot of old furniture is better than all but very expensive new stuff. My kids like my parents' and grandparents' furniture.

		Yes, but all the more reason to preserve it if you have it. There is survivorship bias in thinking that all older furniture is good, but I am thinking about old furniture that has lasted well.
