That being said bombing children is always a tragedy and the US should be doing everything it can to learn from this and not make these kinds of mistakes.

Your attempt to try to spin the morality of bombing innocent civilians as a mere domestic partisan issue is disconcerting. I mean, this site has a diverse international readership, and a UN report on potential war crimes is hardly a domestic issue.
