"people you do like" in this case refers to a website that DigitalOcean owns. "people you don't like" is a singular (racist) guy who slapped a bunch of scripts on top of Arch and somehow receives hundreds of thousands of dollars for it.

You should really go and read the blog post(s) then, as it's meritocracy and cultural non-fit, rather than racist. I.e, if a violent but poor person wants to come and live in your house, are you racist?
