I have formative (to my interest in programming) memories of going to Barnes & Noble and cracking open those huge Graphics Gems and Game Programming Gems books. Just an amazing wealth of topics and tricks and I learned something new on every page. Red Blob Games [0] is the closest thing in spirit these days but I do miss those books.

Haha, I remember making a "dust cover" to read GPU Gems 2 in class without controversy. RIP Nvidia demo girls, who appear to have been scrubbed from history for similar reasons at corporate scale. ...and today, ChatGPT can one-shot the meme and many of the shaders. I miss those books too.
