I think you need to make more distinctions there: "tech people" aren't all "SV startup types."

Because I'm a "tech person," and I hated Uber from the second I heard about its flagrantly illegal tactics. I've come to feel like SV is a cancer, for a multitude of different reasons, of which "disruption" is one of them.

As I said, a lot of "tech people", not all "tech people".

The SV crowd was certainly more celebratory but in my experience, indifference and silence wasn't just limited to the "SV startup types."
