| It's dehumanizing because it feels like you're an incomplete human with no agency. When I was a teenager, there was nothing I hated more than obnoxious adults deciding for me what I could or couldn't do. I did literally everything in my power to circumvent them. |

(And of course there exist many dimensions of maturity.) (In fact, in some educational systems, the final examination in pre-University schools is called "Maturity test".) | |
