I want the rest of you to have big phones, so that the concept of "mobile friendly websites" can die. This is my sole interest in phones. So I hope the Duo can be held comfortably in landscape orientation, but I guess in fact it can't be held comfortably at all. Oh well.

It is true that mobile oriented design killed a lot of great web designs from the 00s. But its not just screen size, thumbs are less precise than mouse cursors, necessitating larger buttons and click areas.

Bad luck, accessibility standards require you to support 320px width without horizontal scroll bar for most elements, especially the main layout. (1280px with 400% zoom)

Best are websites that in order to be "mobile friendly" make it impossible to pinch-zoom images

Why? Responsive designs are great. They often work better on desktop, too - if you resize the window, you get a layout that “just works”. Lots of companies make terrible websites, but has been true since long before mobile phones existed.
