Is the house clean? Apparently 2-nonenal can build up on surfaces. FWIW my parents house (mom 86, dad 90) doesn't smell like old person, but they keep it so clean (via a dedicated house cleaner that comes in every two weeks) that an engineer could probably work on spacecraft in the living room.
