I have a theory that democracy will in the not so far future begin to be a disdained form of government, and it will happen because the Internet makes people think, or realize, too many voters are too dumb to be enfranchised in a rational system. While before we could be unaware, now we are painfully aware of the stupidity of the masses, and this can never be unnoticed. It is a plausible continuation that many will come to the conclusion that democracy does not make sense with this constituency. We may see popular calls for partial disenfranchisement or even just outright oligarchy.
