I was expecting a box for storing potatoes. If you have a short season with closer to 100 frost free days a box like this won't get you many more potatoes than not burying. There just isn't enough time to grow more spuds on the buried vines. If you do manage to grow 100 lbs of potatoes the good news is they store really well in a cool damp environment. I don't have very cold winters and have stored root vegetables in a cooler filled with dirt/sawdust successfully. The closer you can get the storage environment to cold but not frozen dirt the better they will store. I have stored potatoes for 2 years then planted them to grow more. They just have to stay cold all summer or they will sprout. | ||
