I've been doing this for years between MacBooks with a thunderbolt 4 cable. It's very fast and unlike 10Gbps ethernet, doesn't require a bulky, power-hungry[1] adapter. MacOS also will use thunderbolt automatically for Migration Assistant if available. [1]Most people don't realise how much power ethernet consumes. Even 100Mbps ethernet consumes about 0.5W per port and it goes up with higher speeds. | ||
