100% wood is way heavier, even the lighter variant.

Interesting note... I recently disassembled an IKEA cupboard from 1999 made from MDF. It was definitely much heavier than their MDF products (eg. Metod kitchen cabinets) from today.

There has been quite some changes on the construction of IKEA furniture within the last 30 years. There was an interesting video that I cant remember the name anymore about this.
