Most mental health issues tend to be treated as something to be removed whereas in the case of gender dysphoria, the empirically proven treatment is (of course treated case-by-case) to transition. Similarly, dysphoria (when being trans, most commonly) is often treated as some form of perversion or threat. It’s complicated. |
