This is a ridiculous requirement to suggest. CO2 lasts around 100 years, waiting until your satisfied of "evidence of catastrophe" is like waiting for evidence that a car crash has fatalities before considering swerving.

You are suggesting that the impending catastrophe will be like a car crash? Everything will be just fine and then suddenly catastrophe? No warning signs? Like an asteroid impact? I'm just not seeing the mechanism behind this.
