I agree, but there are a lot of factors going on to contribute to that number. For example, about 20% of that number is because someone is finding out for the first time they have T1D [1]. Insulin costs and monitoring costs are also going to be a pretty big contributing factor. CGMs and finger sticks aren't cheap.
