I recently attended a conference/workshop about AI security. One of the topics was the importance of limiting the models and adding safeguards. I was the only one in class to argue that if we limit our models, somebody else is going to make models which are not limited and we will lose to them in the long run on all fronts (innovation, economy, militarily). Seemingly this is not obvious, even to people who have grown up in a free market economy and should be fully aware about how such markets operate. The answer was seemingly “more regulation” without a hint of irony or sarcasm. | ||
