Pretend someone else who you admire and trust said it and they don't have an ulterior motive. How would you evaluate the POV? Do you simply trust it or do you use your critical thinking and own judgment?

I use my critical thinking and judgment to not trust authoritarian surveillance technology purveyors when they make public statements. This guy is 47 ulterior motives in a trenchcoat.
